How do I get help?
Email info@mamapoints.app. We reply within 2 business days.
To help us help you quickly, please tell us:
- which app you're using: MamaPoints (parent) or MamaPoints Kids;
- your phone or tablet model and whether it's iPhone, iPad or Android;
- what you expected to happen and what happened instead (a screenshot helps).
Please don't send passwords, and don't include your family code in screenshots.
You can also find quick answers in the parent app under Settings, then Help & support.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create a family?
Install the MamaPoints app, tap Get started and sign up with your email, Google or Apple. Then tell us what to call you, name your family and pick its time zone (days roll over at midnight there), add your first child with their name and birthday, and choose a panda friend. That's it: you land on Home, ready to add tasks.
How do I add another child?
In the parent app, open the Family tab and tap Add child. Each child gets their own tasks, stars, rewards and Ask Panda settings.
How do I connect my child's device to the kids app?
Install MamaPoints Kids on your child's phone or tablet. In the parent app, open Family, then Family code. In the kids app, type the 6 letters and numbers, or tap Scan and point the camera at the QR code. Then pick your child on the Choose a player screen. No email or password is needed on the child's device.
Two children share one tablet. How do they switch?
In the kids app, tap the picture at the top of the screen, then Switch player, and choose who is playing.
The family code didn't work. What now?
Check you typed all 6 characters, or try scanning the QR code instead. If the code was changed, use the new one shown under Family, then Family code. Only the family owner can make a new code, and the old one stops working straight away.
How do I unlink a kids device?
In the parent app, open Family, then Family code, find the device under Linked kids devices and tap Unlink. The kids app goes back to the join screen. If you think the code has been shared too widely, tap Make a new code as well.
How does approving tasks work?
When you create a task you choose whether it needs your review, and whether the child should add a photo. When your child finishes one, it shows on Home under Needs your review. Tap it to see any photo, then tap Approve to give the stars, or Not yet to send it back with an optional note. Changed your mind? Tap Undo on the confirmation and the stars go back.
How do stars and rewards work?
You decide what each task is worth. Add rewards in the Rewards tab, with a star price for each. Your child asks for a reward in the kids app, and you approve the request; the stars are taken off their balance then. Stars are a family arrangement: they are not money and have no cash value.
Why is a star balance taking a moment to update?
Balances are worked out on our servers so two devices can never disagree. The new number shows straight away and settles within a few seconds. If a device was offline, it catches up when it reconnects.
Notifications aren't arriving. What can I check?
First, allow notifications for MamaPoints (or MamaPoints Kids) in your phone's settings. In the parent app, open Settings (tap your picture on Home), then Notifications, and check the kinds you want are on and that Hold notifications overnight isn't covering the time you expect them. Make sure the family time zone is right, and open the app once after installing or updating so the device can register. If it still doesn't work, email us with your phone model.
How do I control Ask Panda?
In the parent app, open Family, tap your child, and find the Ask Panda card. Use Let [name] ask questions to switch it on or off, and Questions a day to set a daily limit (it starts at 10, goes up to 50, and 0 means no limit). Ask Panda filters questions and answers for children, but AI can be wrong, so it's worth chatting with your child about what they ask.
Can another grown-up help manage the family?
Caregiver invitations for co-parents, grandparents and nannies are coming soon. You can save an invitation in Family, then Invite caregiver, but it is not sent yet. We'll let you know in the app when this is ready.
How do I remove a child?
Open Family, tap the child, then Edit profile and Archive. Archiving hides them from Home, Plan and Create but keeps their stars and history. If you want a child's data erased completely, email us from your account's email address.
How do I delete my account?
In the parent app, tap your picture on Home to open Settings, then tap Delete account, confirm it's you, and tap Delete my account. If you own the family, this deletes the whole family's data and signs out linked kids devices. Full details are on our Delete your account page.
